I have just purchased PC Stitch standard. I was wondering if someone who has pro chould answer a question for me. In the pro version can you choose a cloth count any higher than 24 when importing a photograph? I want to be able to choose 28 count because the picture looks better and then be able to stitch on 14 count Aida.
Thank you in advance for any help.

That is not possible, but you can adjust it from the pattern properties some more after you have imported the image. (This may be possible with Standard too, I don't know.)

So does Pro go up to 28 or does it stop at 24 like the standard version?

When importing it does not go any higher than 24, but after you have imported the picture you can adjust the fabric count from Pattern Properties (Tools -> Pattern Properties, first tab). I assume it works like this with Standard too, but as I have only Pro I really can't say.

Even though the drop down only goes to 24, you can type in other numbers with the keyboard, so you can type 28 in manually.

WOW. Just WOW.Hello everyone. New user and first time poster. Been lurking picking up helpful hints. This one just blew my mind! The imported picture is so much clearer @ 28 count.
Quick question:

If I want the finished xstitch to be around a 5 X 7, if I chart it at 28 count, but stitch it on a 14 count, will it change the size? Double it?
Thanks

You simply chart it for 14 which is the count you are using in actuality (as you are stitching over two).
That's what I do even I NEVER design aida in mind (though I rarely design 28 count in mind... not dense enough ).

Hi,

If I understand what you are asking, you designed at 28 count on the screen, then want to stitch it on 14 count cloth you are asking if it will double in size. The answer is yes.

If you are asking, if you design on 28 count and then make double size stitches on 28 count so it really is 14 count when finished so you can easily make 1/2 and 1/4 cross stitches. Yes it will double.

If you are asking if you design it at 14 and then stitch it on 28, then it will be half the size.

But I think you were saying that you designed at 28 and it looked like it had finer details so you wanted to use that pattern, but stitch on 14. If you do that, the finished product will be double the size quoted in the pattern and all the estimates for the floss will be larger too.

hope I understood, and what i said helps.
