When I go in to edit a pattern, more specifically change the floss colors, the floss number no longer appears on the color when I hover over it with my cursor. It used to, but not anymore, I don't know why. How do I get it back? I have PC Stitch 10 (and I love it!)
Thank you in advance.

I suggest you check with Mark. I have no idea why something would quit working. Just look for his profile here on this board and send him an email.

Three years after this was discussed, I'm having the same trouble: no floss numbers appear anywhere when I hover over the floss palette. I also remember it doing this previously. What has happened to floss numbers? TIA

Gretch,
Is it possible that your window isn't showing properly? For one thing, there was an issue at one time with this software and Large fonts. It doesn't appear to bother my system (Windows 7) but it may other configurations.
Do you see Col and Row towards the right side BELOW the floss palette? The color code and how many stitches should appear on the right side at that same level when you move the mouse over the symbols in the Floss Palette area.
What do you see? Also, what version of PCStitch are you using AND what version of Windows are you using.

Thank you, Dragonlair. I was having trouble signing in and got help with that from Mark, so now I can work on this again.
I am using PCStitch10 on Microsoft10. I don't see Col and Row showing anywhere. Under Available Colors I have Add, Blend, Replace, below those are buttons marked Available Colors and Floss Properties. Then, there is the Floss Palette, and way over to the right are Auto Hide and Close buttons. All of these are along the bottom of the screen, under Available Colors and my chart. Nothing appears when the mouse is hovering over anything in the Floss Palette.
I hope this tells you something. Thank you again.

Gretch,
The Row and Col message is in the bottom border of the window. If you're not seeing that, then try using the options in the upper left corner of the window (-, box, red "x") where you minimize, full-size and exit the software. Click on the "box" (middle option) and use your cursor to shrink the height of the window just a bit. That should show that bottom area and give you your color indicators.
The row and col messages tell you where you are in your pattern when you run the mouse over the main edit area of the window.
If you have the task-bar up all the time, it may be your issue. It may be covering the needed area.
by "Microsoft 10", I think you mean Windows 10. Note that PCStitch 10 is NOT made for Windows 10. It's far older but I think it still works. I can still run PCStitch 7 on my Win 7 machine (I don't have it loaded though) and it's been around since 2004 (Win ME & XP times, I think). I first ran it on Win ME.
Let me know if that helps.

I see floss numbers now! I had to minimize the window to see Col and Row at the bottom, and then, indeed, when I hover over the symbols and colors in the floss palette, I see floss numbers. YAHOO! Thank you for helping me figure this out!

Good!
Your problem wasn't with PCStitch but was with your window size. That makes it an OS problem but may have been complicated by personal preferences. It can be very difficult at times to determine just what the problem is. That's why I always tell people to give as many details as they can -- even if they don't think they have anything to do with it!
