When you first create a pattern (click on "New"), there is a page where you can give the Title, Author, Copyright information (on the first tab) and all sorts of other tabs to create the file different from the defaults that you have given.
Even after that, you can select "Pattern Properties" to access that exact same panel.
It's on the toolbar as an icon of the 9 little red squares with a piece of paper over the lower right corner. It's also available under the Tools menu option.
