Last night, while working on a pattern, I realised that something wasn't right. There was a dark colour where there should have been light colours, and I soon noticed that it's because the hourglass shaped symbol repeats itself.

As far as I can tell, this is the only symbol that repeats, but it still has me worried since I sell patterns and use this software to create them. I had not noticed this until working on one last night, and now I'm worried that there are other repeating symbols I haven't noticed yet.

It seems like a huge oversight, since it makes larger patterns almost impossible to follow.

Actually, there are 2 or 3 symbols that repeat. Why? I don't know. It was reported years ago. You can mix symbols from various fonts and that may help. You just have to watch this issue yourself.

I know, and I agree, it's unfortunate to have duplicates and yet some "locations" where there is not a defined symbol.

Yeah, I noticed the blank ones earlier while I was fixing up a pattern. And now I'm wondering what else I've missed, because I haven't had the chance to do every pattern I've created and listed online.

I know we had some duplicate symbol issues a while back, but I thought they were all resolved. I will make sure this gets resolved in PCStitch 11.
