| Is there a way to enlarge the grid size? I'm trying to print out a pattern that's 140x175 and it won't let me enlarge the "grid" so that I get approximately 70 rows PER PAGE. I can't SEE to STITCH when the grid is smaller than that, and right now it's at 90+ rows to one page. I'm trying to get it onto SIX pages and nothing I do is working (want color blocks on 6 pages NOT including the information sheet). Once I "highlight" each color to print out I have to have the larger grid that I always have gotten in the past (which is approximately 50 columns by 70 rows PER PAGE). Thanks |

The print options! You can select how many stitches/inch to print. It will affect the number of pages in the pattern but you can make them as big as you want.

In the print menu's general tab you have a sizing options section, at 10 stitches per inch an 140 columns by 175 rows pattern, the grid should print as 73 columns by 92 rows, on 5 pages including information sheet.
At 9spi 66 x 84 on 10 pages including info sheet. |

| Yes, with specific stitches per inch I DO get 73 columns by 92 rows, but I want something closer to 50 columns by 70 rows to print out - over six pages. I have tried changing the specific stitches per inch to 14 and 10 and 4 and I get EXACTLY the same 73x92 print out. I have "fit to page" set at 6 but only FOUR pages will print out regardless of what I have in the "specific stitches per inch" box. I UNCHECK the "Print information sheet." No matter WHAT I do with the numbers for "specific stitches per inch" and "fit to page" I get FOUR and ONLY four pages. Even if I check the ALL for what to print I still get grid size the same but it now prints out SIX pages with the colors listed on pages 3 and 6 and two columns of the pattern color. So that doesn't work either to "ENLARGE" the grid. (Also, if I needed to go to 8 pages that's not a problem, except it won't DO it). |

To get 50 X 70, your PATTERN must be that size. It is printing what it has!

| I have printed out at least 15 patterns that have up to 150 columns AND up to 170 rows WITH NO PROBLEM. They will all come out on six pages with the larger grids that put approximately 50 columns across and 70 rows down. The second page would do another 50 columns or so, and the third page would complete the pattern across with the last 30-50 columns, followed by the list of colors on the right side. Pages 4-5-6 would then continue the pattern across but from rows 70ish down to whatever the bottom number was - anywhere from 140 to 170. I have always had to TRICK the printouts in order to get the 6 pages to print (specific stitches per inch is always 10. Fit to page count 6 is CHECKED. Color Blocks is CHECKED. In order for the FROM and TO pages to GO to 6 pages I have to HIGHLIGHT the 6 in the PAGE COUNT block, then I can move the "to" number from the four that would not move before I highlighted the 6 and can then change it to a 6. It then prints out perfectly. The ONLY difference in this current work is that I will not have ANY blank stitches - ALL the 140x170 will have a stitch in it. Previous works did not stitch background at all. So maybe it's the 23,800 stitches that are causing the problem. I'll have to take out the background and see what happens then. I don't seem to have the problem with works of 12,00 to 29,000 stitches. |

I looked at a pattern that is 160 X 150
I changed the stitch per inch from 10 to 7 and it did about 51 stitches on the first page. I did not say how many pages.
Remember, you can change that option as well. It uses which of those print options you check and ignores the others.

| Tried the "7" but still get 1-71 columns and 1-90 rows for page one. Nothing seems to work for this particular picture for no reason I can figure out. I even went back to others I have done that are basically as large and there is no problem with them, so it's not like I glitched the program. Oh, well. I'll either start over, or I'll have to find another bear cub to stitch! Thanks for trying Diane. |

Well for goodness sakes - I DID delete and started over and now it works with 7 stitches per inch fit to page count 9. I'll sure try to remember that for future reference if it should happen again!!!

I remember going around and around with a similar issue a while back. I wanted something to print across 2 pages, and it just wouldn't do it. Then I figured out that the program wants to keep everything square--if it's 2 pages wide, it wants it to be 2 pages tall, as well. So, I just be sure to specify a square number (4, 9, 16, etc).
You can also highlight (with the arrow tool) a portion of the pattern and "print selection" if splitting the pages divides a small portion that you want to keep intact. The only problem with that approach is that the grid lines renumber themselves according to the "selection," rather than keeping the numbers from the entire pattern. |
