Is it possible? When I try to create pdf from a PC Stitch pattern, I get the "does not support this format" message. I would very much like to be able to email pdf's to others.

Step by step instructions, Please.

Thanks.
Dianne

All you need to create a PDF of your patten is to use a virtual printer such as PrimoPDF (free) or some similar product. Then just "print" to that "printer" and you have a PDF of what you would normally print.

There are many PDF generators that work the same as PrimoPDF. I can't even say that it's the best. I only say that it works for me. All of them work the same. Once installed they are considered "printers" by the operating system. You select that "printer", set the parameters the way you wish and "print".

I have used Cute pdf for years and have never had a problem.

All you have to do is install the software (and make sure that you aren't adding all the little ad ons!) and when you are ready to print (that is, make a pdf) choose the cute pdf option instead of your printer. Super simple!

woohoocrossstitch,

That is how all these pdf generators work -- as a virtual printer. I also used PrimoPDF for years with no problems but when I tried to install it on my new laptop, even though I checked to block the little add-ons, they came through anyway and then trying to UNINSTALL them, they put in MORE stuff. Some of the stuff was uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, about 4 or 5 times. I was so mad when I finally got it cleared up, I removed PrimoPDF on BOTH machines.

I discovered that the adobe clone I use, Foxit, has a PDF creator that works the same way and is MUCH faster than PrimoPdf. Besides, I don't have separate product just for it.

I've not heard of your product but after my experience with Primo, I think I stick with what I know!

Yeah, I don't even remember where I got the original link from with regards to Cute pdf but every time I reinstall (new pc, laptop, etc) I do a search and voila, it's there.

I shall have a look at the Foxit software though just for giggles as it's always handy to have a back up in case something happens. Thanks Diane!

Hello,

I use doPDF when I want to print to a .PDF. When I want to merge .PDF files I use a program called PDFreDirect. When using PDFreDirect it will let you arrange your files in the order you want them to appear in their new merged result.

In my older copy of PC Stitch I have to print the color key plus the chart/pattern itself in two steps. Then I use the PDFreDirect program to unify those two into a single .PDF document.
