I just upgraded to Version 9.01.009, and suddenly I can't find the icon to let me Backstitch! It asks if I want to see it in solid blocks or symbols, etc, and it asks if I want to do single or multiple backstitch, but I just want to use a backstitch in my design. Where did my Icon go??? |

The backstitch is not a display type, it's a stitch type (such as the "X", "/" or such for cross, half-cross ...) Just click on the one that looks like a "-" and you're in backstitch mode.

Dragonlair, It doesn't give me any options for a stitch type! If it were that easy, I'd be fine, but it doesn't....

Mrs New, You know in the software where you may choose your stitches ? The stitch at the very right looks kinda like a star, and then the one on the left of the one that looks like a star is a little line, click on this one and you should be able to back stitch.
Edited to add, hang about and I'll try to get you a picture
Good luck |

It won't necessarily be next to the specialty stitch icon. You can change what you see there. Check the options. you can modify those toolbars to fit YOUR needs. I don't think I even have that one.

Dragonlair, I do not have ANY stitch options. I can get on my Help screen, and it says there should be a "Stitch Toolbar", but it isn't on my screen, and there is nothing I can find that will let me add the Stitch Toolbar onto my screen! This is driving me NUTS!!!
When you look at your picture, there is the top line that says "File, Edit, View, etc" then there is the second line down that has the different icons for Save, Print, etc. Then on the third line down YOU have the Stitch choices---I DO NOT HAVE THAT LINE AT ALL---My next line is the Available Colors. I do have the Specialty Stitches, but at the far Right side of the screen next to the Borders Library. And there are no stitch options over there either....
Any ideas???
Thanks for all your help, this is just driving me crazy... |

Oh no, that's not good at all. I'm sorry you're struggling so much. I don't know the program enough yet to help you then, I'm afraid. I'm more of a Mrs. New then you are.
I'm going out for a bit now, but when I get home, I'll have a look in the program and see if I can find anything to help you. |

Yahoo!!!!! I just showed my sweet wonderful hubby my problem, and HE was able to figure out how to get my Stitch Toolbar up for me!!!! Apparently it was just hidden behind something, and now it's not hidden anymore!
I didn't know there was supposed to be such a thing as a Stitch Toolbar until Sereniticat posted it, so I didn't know what to look for.
Thanks for everything! |

Oooh yay! I'm so glad you got this working. I've actually gone through and taken step by step screenshots for you and was just loading them into photo bucket.
If you still want them,( just in case this happens again when your sweetie is not home) let me know and I'll be happy to post them up for you. |

Again - remember that ANY of these toolbars may appear different for you and if they have parts you don't need, you can "turn off" those parts to make the toolbars smaller and just show what you need. You can always put them back later.
