How do you make your background less defined? Also, I am having problems re-sizing a photo to look good on the cross stitch. I have tried using paint and using the stretch and skew and changing my numbers there to 140 X 196 for 14 count aida cloth but it takes the picture and stretchs it out of porportion. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
The only thing you can do to keep the background "less-defined" (which I think you mean simpler) is to use a simpler background photo. Otherwise, you have to use the "tweaking" phase of pattern creation to alter it to your needs.
As for the pattern size, it is difficult to keep the aspect ratio when reducing your pattern using Paint. I recommend Irfanview from http://www.irfanview.com/. It's free and it as an image size adjuster that has an option to keep the aspect ratio. I need to upgrade my version - I'm a bit behind!
Thank you for your response and I will try out that program you recommend.
