I am new at using PCStitch, I bought the Pro version. I imported a picture, printed the pattern and started stitching but the colors are really off. I tried to redo the pattern using less/more colors and it is still way off. For example, my grandbaby is wearing a pink bunny mask (Easter) but on all the patterns I have tried it goes anywhere from cranberry to red. I understand I can change the color using the painter but I would have to change almost everything. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong.

You may need to brighten your image intensity before importing it. What colors the computer sees are not the same as what our eyes see. You have to adjust as you go along. what the computer generates is never intended to be used "raw". It is just the first step. The rest is "tweaking" - adjusting to make it what you want.

Good Luck,

Diane

I have been playing with trying to change some of the colors but dont understand how to alter the color in just some squares. For exaple, if just one area of the face seems too dark, how do I change the color in those specific squares only? Thanks for any help.

To change small areas you can do it two ways - one is to manually change each color. Just set the active color and click on the the places you want it as if it were a new pattern. For very small areas or confetti stitches, it's the easiest.

To change the color in one area but not totally replace the color, set the "select" option where you can drag a "box" around the area you want to change. Then do the color change and it will ask you if you want to do just the selected are or the entire pattern. choose "selected area" and only the stitches of the wrong color in your box will change leaving all others fine.
