I just got it yesterday so I had to clear out the trial run. Did that. Put in the CD and got it running :-) Had to close it to reboot. This morning I went to play and it won't even start. I sent in an email, but I am very sad. I had to get special permission from hubby to spend the money and now it isn't even turning on -- just errors. I can turn on the floss editor (which I don't want to do and screw it up). |

Moopsee,
I suggest you try re-installing. You don't run it from the CD. Once you get it installed, eject the CD and run from the hard drive.
Don't worry, you paid for it and it will work! Mark will help you work out any kinks if we can't get it going on our own.
The floss editor is a totally separate program. It's not going to affect your use of PCStitch.

I was trying from the computer. Obviously a glitch! I wiped it all off, rebooted, and reinstalled. I checked for updates and now have started and turned it off 3 times just to check.
An oddity, when wiping it from the computer going through the control panel uninstall, it tells you it is helping you install through most of the process and then asks if you want it all removed. I said "yes" and then it continued telling me it was HELPING me to install. At the end, it uninstalls, but tells you it has installed through the whole process. Most peculiar!!!
Anyway, now I am happy as a clam and can play with it and hubby will never know there was a problem. Thanks so much. I didn't want to screw up both the program AND the computer.... |

That "install" when you are uninstalling is the way that has already read. I agree it looks strange. I sometimes start the uninstall and then cancel as a way to give control of the .pat files back to PCStitch when something else (usually PatternViewer) steals it. I shouldn't have to do it but the icon doesn't look right if I don't.
At least you've got it working now. As long as it's a correct install from the CD, and then updated normally, it should be fully registered and you should have no problems. It sounds like something didn't go in right the first time.
