Hello, I recently purchased this and I'm still learning...Can't get many photos to look well actually using the 1pixel to 1stitch on 14ct...oh well. Anyhow..
I imported a photo and tweaked it a lot. I've run the "clear unused entries" and its removed a lot - thankfully! Went from 100 to 75 so far - won't come out good without such a high count...
BUT...when I go to Floss Usage, I see A LOT of colors in there that have 1-10 stitches. I figure I can get rid of about 40+ of them, but I have no idea where those stitches are in the pattern. Is there an easy way of finding this? A LOT of the colors are alike, so its hard to spot. |

If you had Pro instead of Standard, you could use the highlight feature. Just turn it on and select which color to highlight. One thing you could do is to be sure you have symbols with color turned on and then change the symbol of one of the colors to something very striking and easier to see. Then just scan through looking for that symbol. Just keep doing that for all the colors in question.
Alternatively, you could save this project and then try again but reducing the number of colors to use from the start. That will reduce the number of confetti stitches from the start as well as reduce the number of similar colors.

Humm...might be worth it to upgrade lol.
I've done a lot of work on websites and graphics. So sometimes I'll do editing before trying to turn the photo into a cross stitch. I saw on this forum to do the 1pixel=1stitch so I've been trying to do that, as I like 5x7 cross stitches, anything around 8x10 just seems to large for me. But, when I make the photo 80-90pixels wide, it loses all detail when I bring it into the program. For example, a tinkerbell photo, her face loses all detail unless I do a larger photo (making it 14inx14in) using 100 colors, then editing it down seems to work.
I wish there was a way to see the Light Effects...effect lol on the pattern it would make it easier to envision the sparkly effect. Originally the photo sparkled so with 100 threads it had the sparkle effect. 100 colors is just way too much for me. |

One thing to remember - Tinkerbell is copyrighted! DO NOT give any such pattern you create to anybody. Such work is ONLY for your use.
When you force more than one pixel/stitch, you tend to get blurring because it's trying to figure out what color to use when there may be 9 or 16 or whatever pixels to become the one stitch.

No, the completed pattern is a birthday gift.
I am doing 1pixel per inch, yet her face is blurry. I've tried with quite a few different images and I get the same result time after time. I just can't figure out why. |
