I currently use Pro 9 on Vista, and am thinking of giving my old Standard version 7 (which is no longer on any computer of mine) to a friend who has XP. Does she need anything other than the cd?

As long as the software is not installed on any machine you own, you can simply give her the CD for installation. The "license" is on the CD.

As soon as she installs it, she should check for the latest upgrade to it (I believe it does it automatically).

That is very generous of you to give something that is still usable and supported but you do not use yourself. Thank you for thinking of your friend!

Just an update: My friend says it all went fine and she is having lots of fun playing around with it.
