I am using PCS 7 and never had any trouble with it till I updated my computer with Windows Service Pack 2. Now I am so frustrated. It works just find until I start adding beads to a design. Once beads are added it moves slower then a turtle regardless of what I'm doing. Even centering a design after beads are added takes so long for the process to complete.

I've tried uninstalling to reinstall my PCStitch but I get this error message when trying to uninstall:
Error Information:
>SetupNew\SetupDLL.cpp (123)
PAPP:PCStitch Update
PVENDOR:M&R Technologies, Inc. (www.pcstitch.com)
PGUID:F2A69CA0-8BBF-4404-BA68-DB79A3548E34
$12.0.0.58849
@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) IE 6.0.2900.2180

What is happening???? How can I fix this?? I can't uninstall Service Pack 2 as it doesn't have that option.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can you try to re-install OVER your current install? That might work. It might recognize that you already have it and request to "fix" your current setup. If so, let it try.

Also, how did you try to uninstall? Did you do it from Add/Remove in the Control Panel or from the uninstall program in the program folder. Whichever way you tried, try the other.

Diane...yes I did try reinstalling without unistalling after I tried to uninstall first. It didn't help.

I also have PCStitch Pro and it acts the same wasy *slow after putting in beads* Now it will let me uninstall so I have done that and now just going to try and reinstall it. I'll post again if that did the trick with Pro but I use PCS 7 all the time.

I went to "Add/remove programs" to try to uninstall the PCS7.

Thanks for answering my post.

OK...I uninstalled PCS Pro and that went fine BUT it will not let me install it again. It goes through the process...puts the icon on the desktop...says it's finished but when I click on the icon it tells me Windows can not open...several applications are missing or not supported.
I had to do a system restore to get the previous Pro back into my computer. It runs just like before I uninstalled...slow to respond to anything I do.

I have no idea what is wrong. XP2 has been out for years. In fact XP3 is nearing release right now (it's a release candidate - the step between beta testing and full release).

I suggest you use the Contact Us point and send an email to Mark Miller asking for help.

I use it on Vista and I skipped from ME to Vista so I have no XP experience. I was just suggesting from general computer knowledge. It sounds like the Registry is hosed up somehow at the very least.

What version of Pro and 7 are you running? Could that be part of the problem? Pro's latest version is 8.03.08. The latest version for 7 is 7.00.20.

I have both but I far prefer the environment of pro. When I complete a project, I normally export it to 7 because the files are about 1/3 the size.

I got an email from Mark with the link to a fix for this as Windows Service Pack slowed down PCStitch. I installed the "fix" and it works perfect!
