I have the very latest update to PCStitch Pro (v8.03.001). This being a major update of some 39MB, released within the last few days.

The export module seems to have some major flaws. Inceasing the dots per inch setting in ALL of the formats available, is actually increasing the physical size of the image NOT the resolution. A chart of 8.25" x 11.75" exported on a 300 dpi setting is showing up when viewed on Photoshop as a whopping 24.25" x 35.25" whilst the resolution is still showing as only being 100dpi?? This fault seems to be proportional to all the dpi settings chosen. The higher the dpi the bigger the image, but actual dpi still remains at 100hpi when opened in any graphics program.

Another problem I have found is that the save to clipboard function is resizing the image? I have used PCStitch 7.0 and the image size is retained exactly when saving to clipboard.

As PCStitch Pro is a new purchase, I am unfamiliar with any versions prior to this latest 8.03.001 update. Has anyone else encountered this problem with this new update yet? CHECK IT OUT!

Help/advice/suggestions appreciated.

I think that the size of the file in pixels is correct, but we may be saving the wrong DPI setting for file types that support it. This may be a result of PCStitch 7 only saving BMP files, which didn't have a setting in the file for DPI, but JPG files do. I will take a look at this in the morning and see what I can find out.

Would appreciate you sorting out the problems in the export module Mark.

In particular, if you can get the save to clipboard to work as it does in PCStitch 7.0 (without it resizing the image)that would be brilliant, as it would allow myself and other users, to simply paste the image direct into another application, straight from the clipboard, without further work.

I can currently save the chart in PCStitch Pro, open it in PCStitch 7.0 and export with no problems. Not everyone however, would have PCStitch 7.0 on their system as well.

Thanks....

Problem all sorted now.

The maintenance update has resolved the problem with the export module completely. Images are now being saved at their correct linear size and with the correct print density.

Thanks for sorting out this problem so quickly Mark. You've made someone in the UK very happy !
