The pattern library within PCStitch has a lot of small designs and you can get more from the "Pattern Pieces" CD. These are mainly Jeanette Crews One-Nighters designs.

You can find a lot of free pattern in all sizes from www.CyberStitchers.com.

You can get a lot of small simple designs from www.cross-stitching.com but they are not in PCStitch format. (You do have to sign up to do it but it's free)

If you want a wide variety of free patterns from many sites, I suggest you look at the EMS Cross Stitch Board at www.cross-stitch-board.com, especially the Freebie Links forum.
