Since Win 11 is not even officially released and many of those who have devices that are said to be compatible have not received notices other than they are compatible, I doubt that it has been well tested on Win 11 if at all.
However, since PCStitch 7 still works on Win 10, I don't think it will be adversely affected by the new operating system.
I have not tried it - someone else will have to be the guinea pig for this one.
When will PC Stitch test this for us? I keep getting reminders from Windows and I haven't upgraded yet. Has anyone else tried Windows 11 since the original post in October?
I have upgraded one device to Windows 11 and I think I have PCStitch 11 installed there but I haven't tested it. From what I see of it - most things should work fine. Since most of the older versions of PCStitch still work on 10, it should but I cannot guarantee it.
In early 2020, I upgraded to Win 10 (forced because of the policies of some sites that no longer supported 7 or earlier) and I found that more than 90% to 95% of the products that I installed on the new machine worked! A few have later stopped working with updates but still, the chances of something continuing to work are very good - especially if they were written right!
Just as a note - I have an old game from 1998 that still works! It has no windowed version and had to be patched in 2008 after it hit the 10 year mark (developer released the patch after receiving multiple requests - the game had just quit working). That is well written and I think that PCStitch is the same. I think that the old PCStitch 7 that I used in 2004 still works under 10!
Thanks for your posts; they have given me the courage to go for it! Tomorrow... I have too much going today. I shall update with the results when finished. Thanks!
