Hello, I have a question. I am new to the forums so not sure how this works. my question is how do you enlarge the preloaded images in the library bigger? also. how can I remove the backstitching from the preloaded images in the library? how can I make all stitches whole stitches and not fractional stitches on the preloaded images in the library? they are a little on the small side for what I like/prefer. any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

The answer to the first question is you can't. The only way to adjust the size of a pattern motif is to stitch it on larger fabric such as 10 count rather than 14 count. Anything else requires you to manually edit the pattern.

For removing backstitches and fractional stitches, you can merge the motif into the background. That removed the "object" effect and allows you full access to the stitches. As before, removal of backstitches and fractional stitches is a manual process.

Note -- once you have opened the pattern library, even if you don't use it in your final design, marks the pattern as copyrighted and makes it difficult to share with anybody in the .pat format.

Also - I moved your thread to a more appropriate forum.

Good Luck,

Diane

When you merge a motif into the background, it becomes just a group of stitches. To remove a backstitch, just right-click on the stitch and select to remove it.

For a fractional stitch, you can either delete each stitch or mark over it with a full stitch.

after I merged the pattern, I right clicked and nothing came up giving me the option to remove the backstitching.

If your motif has been merged into the background, all parts of it should be just stitches, not an "object". If you can modify or remove any stitch, you should be able to do the same with a backstitch.

You may have to zoom in a bit to access the backstitches easily. Also, they maybe short. By definition, a backstitch line is a series of individual stitches but it often shown as one long line. It may be a lot of stitches.

I don't work the the pattern library much so I did a little experimentation. You may have to do a few extra steps.

First, after you merge into the background, click on the backstitch icon to put your program into "backstitch mode". Then you can right-click on the individual backstitches to get the "Erase Line" option.

Good Luck,

Diane
