I would like to know how come when i try to import a photo it doesn't use the 1/4, 3/4 stitch and it doesn't do a backstitch for outlines...

Imports are ONLY full stitches. Any of the special stitches have to be done manually. it just does a pixel by pixel examination of the image to determine the color.
