I just spent 3 hours tweeking the pattern I am trying to make (A family tree); It was 400 X 400. I have trying to finish this pattern for a while; I went to save the file and it came up with an error message... Is there a limit on the size before saving; if so may I have the maximum size, so I can re do it all with the separate families pics in different graphs, Please?!. Thank you

I don't know what the maximum size of any pattern is but there are safeguards. You can turn on an auto-save every so-often that you define and the file will be saved at those intervals. Or you can manually save occasionally.

Whenever you save a file, it basically renames the current level to a backup and creates a new patter with the .pat. Any older backup is removed.

It's a good idea to save occasionally under any circumstance for any project or file you ae working on. That way, if something happens, you won't lose all your work.
