I have created two borders that use backstitching, but when I copy the border onto my pattern the backstitching doesn't show up properly, and I have to go back and edit the pattern with the proper backstitching, which isn't a problem right now because my borders are pretty simple, but will become a problem later as my borders become more intricate.

I am using the latest version of PC Stitch 10.

A screenshot of the border in the border editor:

I have never used the border editor and have no idea how it works. For this, I recommend you contact Mark (use his profile to send him an email).

He's the one to work on a problem like this.

I too have never used the border editor, but have noticed in ordinary usage, that when copying a section using backstitch, only the backstitch completely in the selected area will be copied - perhaps that's why the corner section backstitch are missing?

That is very very possible. Yes, you must have both ends in a section for it to copy. Maybe, even if it uses more stitches, you need to force your pattern of your border to have all backstitches within the repeat of the pattern.

It's a very good point. I had forgotten that. PCStitch used to force it to be all single-length stitches which is more accurate for the floss usage but very wasteful of storage space.

Good Luck!

You know, I figured I was just doing something wrong. I'll try ending my backstitch inside the pattern section on the border editor and see if that helps. I bet it will! :)

Thanks for helping out this noob. ;)
