I have had this happen several times. Some of the Backstitch that has been placed into the pattern disappears. How can I prevent this from happening? How can I recover from this? I have had to re-enter a bunch several times.

First, are you sure they are gone and not just not showing. Have you saved the pattern WITH the backstitches and then they don't show?

I've never heard of stitches actually fully placed in a pattern and saved that way disappear.

You can try zooming in more on the are where they seem to be gone and see if that makes them appear. They may simply be hiding along the grid lines of the display.

I saved and opened and they were not showing. I had this work once before. Not sure what to do to make them show if they are there and not showing. I have not replaced all of the missing, so if you have any idea of something to try, let me know.
Thanks,

The only thing I can suggest is for you to contact Mark (see his profile for his email). He's the one to notify of bugs.

Good Luck,

Diane

Just switch the stitch definition of the pattern to backstitch and draw them in. A pattern is a pattern. After the import is complete, the software doesn't know it's an import, it's just a pattern.
