Have no problem importing image. I want to make an 8 X 10 to cross-stitch. When ask in stitches using 18 in count material. I put in 144 and 180. When I printed the pattern, other colors appeared different than the picture and it was not even clear like the sample one shown in program. What am I doing wrong.
I would like it to be 10 by 12. I want to make many as such to in still it in a quilt pattern. I thought this program would be easy and help me save money from paying a company to each one. Please help me

At 4 X 6 the image is probably 288 X 432 pixels. On 18 count material 288 X 432 stitches comes out to a 16 X 20 piece of cloth. When you import an image what you want to be aware of is the number of pixels wide and high the image you're importing is. One pixel ends up being 1 stitch. Images don't have to be big at all to make some huge patterns.
To end up with a 10 X 12 piece of 18 count cloth, ideally the image you import should be 180 X 216 pixels. That's fairly small on the computer.
but I am afraid I cannot fiqure out the math part... how many pixels does my photo have to be if i wanted a 16 inch wide stitched project? on 16 count fabric?
everytime I scan it, my daughter has this gigantic bulls eye on the center of her forehead. it's not blended well at all. when i reduce the pixels the photo is too blurry you cannot see it. i am scanning an 8x10 photo.
thanks tons in advance... or is it that the picture that shows me what the finished product will look like is off? that cannot be accurate? bullseyes on her face? come on... this 7 i am told is what i needed i had pc stitch 5.. now i have 7 and i'm not seeing a difference.
16 inches wide on 16 count is 16 * 16 = 256 pixels. That's actually fairly small. If your original ix 8 X 10 then the height would be 320 pixels to maintain the proportions.
That's a pretty small image. You can use your graphics software, even Microsoft Paint, to just reduce the size of your image to that range.
i am having a terriable time getting my picture to be clear. ive tried everything. changing pixel size but its still blurry what am i doing wrong? help
Do you mean pixel size or pixel count! The pixel size does not change. You may need to use a graphics program (such as Paint) to adjust the size of your image so it is approximately the same number of pixels as you want the stitch count to be. For example, if you want a project that is 75 stitches wide and 100 stitches long, then adjust your image to be 75 X 100 pixels.
