I am using PCStitch Pro 9. I am trying to import an image to make it into a graph. The problem I'm having is that when it imports and is on the grid, it is so blurry that I can't even discern what the image is! The particular image I want to import has 5 basic colors (white, yellow, black, orange, blue). I don't need all the different shades. But, when I reduced the number of colors to use to 5, it only left shades of blue and gray and completely took out the yellow and orange colors. How can I get the imported image to be sharp and crisp while using the number of colors that I want?

To achieve the colors you want, you may need to specify a custom palette. I'm not completely sure of the procedure there.

As for the other problem - blurriness - I suspect your problem is your image is too big. It sounds counter-intuitive but what you need is a TINY image. You want your image to the the same dimensions in pixels that your final result will be in stitches. You want a 1 stitch to 1 pixel ratio to reduce blurriness to the minimum.

Remember you will still have to tweak - the computer never sees the image the same way that you do. The import of the image is just the first step and virtually never gives you exactly what you want. Play with it, changes the colors a bit, TWEAK the image to get the result you want.

Good Luck,

Diane

I struggled last night and all morning trying the trial. I don't think I am finding this very easy. But will try this info as well. My photo also came out blurry. I did change the colors and it helped some. So I am still at square one. Thank u for the info. Will try one more time.
Have a wonderful day
