Borders are just repeating patterns around the outer edges of your design. You can use the "mirror" effect to have avoid some duplication or you can simply select the repeating part of the pattern and copy it multiple places.

It's just another aspect of a pattern.

As for the "pre-defined" border motifs - I have no idea how they are made!

That is a great deal of help thank you so much, but now I have to figure out how to design the borders themselves.

I have tried this method and have gotten nowhere, do you know of a video tutorial? I have searched on youtube and most of them were not in English. I dont want to be a bother but is there a step by step tutorial in writing ?

All I can suggest is the tutorial that comes with PCStitch (I don't know if it covers borders) or if you have PCStitch 10, there is a PDF file that acts as the manual for the product. That might be of help.

Other than that - I don't use mirrors much myself and I know of no video tutorial.
