I am a complete novice to this program so i apologise if i am asking a stupid question, i have got a border on a pattern i am designing, and want to alter the pattern slightly by changing a colour of some of the stitches, but cannot find a way of doing something i feel should be simple.

It's easy. Just make sure the "new" color is in your currently active palette of colors. Then drag the new over the color you want to replace (in the floss palette area at the bottom). I think that's the order. I never remember if it's new over old or old over new.

If you only want to replace part of the colors, change the mouse tool to the arrow and "draw" a box around the area where that color is that you want to change. Then when you drag the color over the other, you will get a pop-up where you select the entire pattern or just the area you have selected.

Good Luck!

Diane

Thank you Diane, that is what had thrown me i hadn't realised about that palette, which has enabled me to learn how to correct things as well. Much appreciated.
