I just upgraded to version 10. For my first pattern test, I tried typing in a sample of various font.
1)The program started acting up, giving me (NO RESPONSE), coming and going .2) Then I noticed at the bottom "Licenced to: someone else's name.3) I tried to save to desktop, which should have saved it as JPEG. I just learned that trick on version 9 last night)
when I tried to open it, the file was not the pattern, but was a document of my daughters, with a PC Stitch10 Icon attached to it.
Her original was still intact, so I deleted the copy.
Then i tried to open the second attempt, and the result sent me back to the version 9 software.
Sooo, I was so excited to get this, and now this is a mess.
I hope they can fix these bugs.
Thanks, Karen

I have no idea of the licensed to problem. You need to contact Mark on that. Someone else has had problems with response time and that also should be reported. In both cases, email Mark with the details of the problem, including your Operating System, memory, speed and anything else that might affect the situation.

It sounds like your install didn't take control of the ".pat" extension. The first thing I suggest is an uninstall/reinstall of the product. It should at least fix the 9/10 file opening (automatically) problem. If not, check this thread: http://www.pcstitch.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1341

I detail how to manually select 10 instead of 9 as the default "opener" of a .pat file.
