Hi, I have PC Stitch Pro Ver 9..says it has the most recent updates.
I am working on a Christmas Stocking schematic to use with machine knitting.
It would help me to have the rows/columns numbered at the sides and across the bottom/top. Is this possible in PC Stitch Pro?
I also need to mirror image the name. In machine knitting, we work from the wrong side, so I have to do the names as a mirror image to get it to view correctly from the right side. Best way to do this?
If there are knitting symbols, I can't seem to find them.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Barb515 |

PCStitch is not designed to work directly for Knitting. By it's name, it's designed for cross-stitch. However, it can be used for any craft that uses a gridded type pattern. You just may have to be a bit "inventive" in your interpretation of some of the features.
For the "mirror" image, you might have a pattern that is twice the width and use one have to have the text forward and the other have as a mirror using that feature of the software. I've never had a lot of luck doing that. I usually just take my pattern and then flip it horizontally to get the mirror image. That might work for you as well.
For the grid numbers on all four sides - I do not believe that is possible. I don't think that's possible in the new PCStitch 10 either.

Thanks for the fast response.
I know PC Stitch is developed for cross stitching patterns, but I also know folks use it for other crafts as well. The more crafts it can be used in, the larger the audience.
I really like that I can create a grid whose blocks are not square as the knit stitch is wider than it is tall, so I can just enter my gauge/inch. Makes picture knitting more true.
I was just checking to make sure I was not missing something. I can just keep doing what I have been doing which is numbering the rows & columns after printing it out.
I was playing with the idea of creating a 3 block border all around but can't figure out how to enter the numbers in it either.
I just can not figure 'mirror mode' out at all. I did a search on it to read all i could, but still very fuzzy about it. I have tried flip horizontally, but not sure if that is what I need either. I need to go check it out in a mirror.
What is coming in Ver 10? Any hints?
Anyway, thanks again for the fast response.

PCStitch 10 is in beta testing right now. All that is included, I don't know for sure. Until the list of new features is made public, you just have to guess.
I don't know when it will be released but I hope it's soon.
