I've read all through the forum and I'm sorry but I can't find an answer to my problem. I've tried setting both the pattern grid lines and the printing grid line options and no matter what I do my charts printing to pdf will not print all of the bold grid lines in bold, only some of them, both vertical and horizontal.
I have it set to display bold lines at 10 for both directions and th 
What am I doing wrong?

I see what you mean with the 50 vertical line and the 40 horizontal line. This is one for Mark. I just don't know.

I tried installing another pdf printer but it is producing the same anomaly, so is my HP DeskJet.

Just out of curiosity - have you tried changing the printing density (number of stitches/inch) and/or the margins to try to MOVE where those odd non-bold lines are occurring?

I think the problem may be in the PDF setup. Try increasing the DPI or resolution of the output file in your PDF printer.

You're probably right, Mark, could you tell me please which pdf writer you use and what setting on it gives you the correct pdf charts in PCStitch Pro 9?
I tried 4 different pdf writers and only dopdf gives me any resolution between 300 and 600 where the sweet spot must lie. Here are some shots of charts printed from 300 to 720 dpi
 300 dpi
 360 dpi
 600 spi
 720 dpi

I use Adobe Acrobat, but I think anything that lets gets over 300 dpi shouldn't be a problem.
Have you tried actually printing the PDF file to see what it looks like? Sometimes the screen preview doesn't look exactly the same as the printout.

Mark, when I actually print the pdf of the chart that was made in the 300 dpi the grid lines are accurate.
So it seems that when I open one of the pdf charts I see the crazy grid lines but when printed the lines are normal?
So how does that affect the charts that I am trying to upload to my designer account with ICG? Will they print correctly even though the pdfs that I am uploading have the strange grids?

They should print correctly, but I can't be sure without trying one. You also might try increasing the zoom level on your screen when you are viewing the PDF files.

Mark, I had uploaded some charts then discovered how they were appearing in my pdf files so I suspended them until I could find out what I needed to do to get the grid lines right.
I'll activate one, Acorn Patch, please check and see if it is going to print corrrectly.

This topic really needs to go off the message board, as it isn't really relevant any longer to most PCStitch users. I think you should email Jenny when you get the pattern changed, and she can verify the printing.

Hi - just come back after three weeks away and found this thread; I've been having similar problems printing, though it's mainly the thinner lines missing. Thought at first it was our printer, but that checked out OK.
I'm using PrimoPDF as recommended earlier on this forum; although I've tried all the options on the screen when converting to pdf but can't seem to get round it.
Have you found a way round your problem? |

Just an idea on the PrimoPdf. Go to the printer definition page (in Control Panel) and edit the default parameters for PrimoPDF. You may be able to increase the "density" (pixels/inch) and that may solve the problem.
