Does PC Stitch Pro 9 run on 64bit Win7?

My XP Pro Laptop screen died last night & I am forced to use this hateful Win7 LT. ...and now my Registration has expired. What a way to start the week! Grrr.

PCStitch 9 (Pro or Standard) is the only version of PCStitch supported under Windows 7 AND Vista. PCStitch 8 was supported under Vista but not 7 (it came out before Windows 7 did).

I just purchased a new computer with Win7 64bit. I installed my very old version of PC Pro (7.0), but now it won't update past 8.03. When I request an update, it says that it has the most recent version. I need 9.0 to see the patterns I created. Any ideas on how to get the program to update?

Major updates are not included in the automatic update procedure. It only updates within the first digit of the level (7, 8, 9 ...).

You must PURCHASE the next level update. When a major level is released, there is usually a time where users can upgrade to the new level at a reduced price. I do not know if that is still allowed as 9 has been out for some time now. You need to check with customer service on that issue. Once you update, you can again use the auto-update for within that major level.

When you buy a license for PCStitch, you do NOT receive unlimited free updates - just those within the level you have purchased.

Only PCStitch 9 is designed to support Win 7 (32 or 64 bit). There never was a pro for level 7. Level 7 became known as "Standard" when the first "Pro" was released as level 8. The two variations are now within level 9 as the only currently supported version of PCStitch.

Okay...confused for a moment. I checked my email and I did purchase version 9.0....in November 2008. So, how do I go about loading it onto my computer when I don't have a disk with that version? I only have PCStitch Pro 8. (I thought it was 7...guess not).

If you have purchased it, then you should be able to download the full version. Your email should have the unlock code to activate it.

My Windows XP desktop died about a year ago. I purchased a new laptop Windows 7. Today I "redownloaded" the PCPro that is on the Home Page. During the download, my 2008 date came up and said that I didn't need an upgrade. I was never asked for my Pro Unlock key. I assume I'm OK now.

So, just download from the Home Page and you should get through fine.

Hugs, Joan

Joan,

That will work only if you were already using PCStitch 9. If you were using Pro 8, it would not work.
