I got the standard version last week and was very excited to be able to stitch a photograph... I imported the picture, cropped it, chose DMC, and chose the number of colors to use. The preview looked awesome, colors all seemed right and everything. I went out and bought the colors I didn't already have and they all seemed to be sort of dark. There were a few that looked to be maybe skin tone so I decided to try.... definately the wrong colors. My white nephew looks black, he has desert sand and rosewood colors all in his forehead... everything is really really dark and way off... whats wrong!?!??

Sincerely...
Disappointed and Frustrated

Without seeing the pattern I can't say. It could be the palette you chose. Remember that what you see as colors are not the same as what the computer sees.

I suggest you keep the current one and then try again. Remember to keep your original photo TINY! It should be the same dimensions in pixels as you want the final to be in stitches.
