I recently purchased PCStitch so I'm new here. The problem I am having is when I import an image and create a pattern the resulting colors are very drab. I've tried changing the brightness setting but this doesn't help very much. Why is the image I see on my monitor bright and colorful and the pattern colors so dreary? Does anyone have any hints or suggestions?

Thank you Diane,

Actually, I really wanted someone to look at the pattern after I had tweaked it. Just to make sure the pattern doesn't look wonky.

Nancy,

The resolution can be improved by "shrinking" the image so that it is approximately the number of pixels dimensions that you want for stitching. That is, if you want a pattern 100 X 100 stitches then try to get the image to 100 X 100 pixels.

As for confetti stitches - some are inevitable and will need to be addressed in after-import "tweaking". Keeping the number of colors low will also minimize confetti stitches.

Is it possible that someone can critique a pattern for me? I may have too many confetti stitches or poor resolution. Since I am new at this I think I need some feedback.

The computer sees things different than you do. It may not be the brightness but maybe what you may need to change is the contrast. Or you can do global changes of the colors as well after import.
