It's time for a new computer and we're looking into switching to an Apple. I have both PCStitch Standard and PCStitch Pro, but don't actually use the "pro".

So...can either version of PCStitch be used on an Apple computer?

Thanks for helping! BTW, I did search the entire website and if the answer to my question is there I missed it...I might need more coffee...

What version of PCStitch are you running? If the version you got from the CD is at least version 8.03.01 then you should be able to use it for installs and then upgrade. The problem is the earlier ones are not Vista compatible (it needs .NET 2.0 Framework). If you do need to download the newer version, then I would check with them first. I do believe they will trust you, especially if you have registered your copy earlier. That shows you did pay for it.

No - it's not a stupid question. On the contrary - it's a very smart question!

Good Luck,

Diane

Thanks for your words encouragement! I do actually agree that Vista is easy enough to navigate. I also think that while it looks different from XP it seems to me to be essentially the same with some things more streamlined and everything lots flashier. My problems have more to do with various things (Palm and Smart List to Go) not being compatible in general and with the 64-bit OS in particular.

I read a post earlier where, I believe it was you, it was recommended to download PCS from the website rather than use the CD. I hope you mean there's no such thing a stupid question because I think mine just might be stupid. Here goes...may I assume that somewhere PCStitch has stored the information that I already purchased PCStitch Standard and PCStitch Pro and they'll send me a new unlock code without expecting me to buy it again??? Sheepishly thanking you in advance for answering this question.

Aw! Vista's not bad. I've been using it for over a year. I rather like it. I have parts configured as "classic" but have recently started using the "Vista menu" setup now that they fixed a few problems I had in April of '07.

If you have Vista Ultimate (as I do), you can get extra features for free. So far there have been a couple of screensavers and 2 games free. Tinker was just available as part of the standard Windows Update last week.

I have friends who don't know computers that well and yet handle Vista easily.

An upgrade to Vista can be nasty but as a pre-install it's a good OS. In well over a year, I think I've only had 1 or at most 2 bluescreens. Over 95% of my old software worked. Of those that did not work, most were old games and the vast majority of those that I wanted to keep - I was able to find a FREE Vista compatible replacement!

Give it a chance!

Thanks for answering and I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. For several reasons, laziness being one of them, we bought a new PC and now I'm trying to figure out Vista. Sheesh!

Pam,

I believe at this time, it is only supported on the PC systems. There are some products for the mac that simulate the PC environment and it might work there. However, that is not a supported situation.
