Hi. I have PC Stitch 5 and have been using it alot with no problems...until now.

All of a sudden when I try exporting the Legend I am getting...'Automation Error'. Never happened before. I've tried rebooting but it doesn't help. And I can't uninstall the software and REinstall it because my cd rom won't open.

Does anyone know what might be causing it and if so...can I fix it without reinstalling?

Thanx in advance for any help.

Hi guys.

Sorry I'm just now getting back.

It finally quite doing it on it's own later that same day...although it will still do it on a rare occasion. But I can deal with that. I just shut it down and open it back up.

For some reason or other that didn't work at first. But now it does.

Thanx for the suggestions.

Just a shot in the dark - is there another computer handy that you can use to load the CD, copy it to a flashdrive and then do the reinstall from that?

The only thing I can think of that would cause something like this is another piece of software replaced some of the OCX/DLL's that are common to many applications with an incompatible version. An uninstall/reinstall usually corrects this kind of error, but that would require a working CD.
