I was taking out some thread that i had messed up and i accidently pulled some of the material so like one of the squares has 2 strings instead of 4 on the fabric does this mean i have to get new fabric and start over? thanks

You are talking of aida, I presume?

Being a weaver by education and without seeing the fabric my educated guess is that if, and only if, that area will be covered with stitches you can continue on working with it. Just remember to be careful with the fabric as its durability has been compromised.
