I have PC Stitch 7 but have not used it for a while. Now I cannot find the "zoom to area" tool. Help! |

Depending on your email client, you should be able to paste the picture right into the email. With the PCStitch screen active, hold down the alt key and press the Prt Scr key. This will put a copy of the screen on your clip board. Then click in the body of an email message and type ctrl-V or select Paste from the Edit menu, and it should put the screen picture in the email.

The only way to send a blank PCStitch screen (which is what Mark wants to see the layout of your buttons), is to do a screen print. He wants to see what you are seeing. The software is tested under a variety of systems and situations but there are some differences in appearance based on individual settings. The only way we can know exactly what you are seeing (or not seeing) is to get a copy of what is displayed on your screen. That is what a screenprint is.

I also use Irfanview but I didn't want to mention any specific product except Paint because that was the one product that you almost had to have.
Check the menus (from the Start Button). It is usually one of the "Accessories" programs.

Ursula, taking that you run on Windows you always have Paint.
And in case the price is the issue and you dislike Paint (who wouldn't?  ) try Irfanview (it's free and good for basic editing) - as the fact is that giving any kind of technical support is much, much easier if the support person actually sees what you see.

Thank you, Diane. Unfortunately, I do not have a graphics program since I really don't need one. Actually, couldn't I just e-mail a blank screen?

Urusla,
To do a screen print, simply get the display you wish to save appearing on the screen and then follow these steps.
1) Click "Print Scr" It is usually just to the right of the "F12" key and also says "SysRq".
2) Open a graphics proguram such as Windows Paint.
3) Open a "New" file
4) Paste (or ctrl-V) the screen you saved into the program
5) Save the file. It is recommended that you select .jpg from the drop-down menu of file types when you select the file name. Fill in a name as well (the extension is not necessary). Paint wants a default of .bmp and those files are very large compared to .jpg.
Now just attach the file you have just saved to the email to Mark.

I'm not sure what is going on here. What version of PCStitch do you have (check the About menu choice under the Help menu).
Can you email me a screen capture of your PCStitch esign grid to mmiller@pcstitch.com?

Mark, I have three toolbars that have magnifying glasses. One has a plus sign (increase zoom setting), one has a minus sign (decrease zoom setting), and one has an arrow in it (zoom to previous setting) -- but not one with the letter A in it. Again, help please :). |

This is the toolbar icon that looks like a magnifying glass with the letter 'A' in it.
