Posted - 04/17/2007 : 09:08:59 Hi,
I have been using STOIK PM Stitch for a while but I have recently changed to PC Stitch as I am unhappy with how it outputs onto paper.
I was wondering if there was any way to automatically convert its CSE files into something I can use on PC Stitch without having to manually copy each one?
Any help appreciated. |

I have the viewer/demo versions of both PatternMaker and EasyCross (and they both work under Vista!). Since those files are relatively small, I am not as concerned about converting them. This is despite the fact that EasyCross patterns do not compress much in a zip file.
The ones that cause the most problems for me are those that are images (in .jpg/.gif format) or those in .pdf formats. I have a few that are in Word and even one or two in Excel but those are rare. I have seen a few .pdf files that are over 1 Mb for one page of a small pattern. And none of these three formats zip well.
The images and pdf files are too general for you to convert because they are just that - images of the "pages" of the pattern.
Now that my new computer is close to normal (I still have some games to install), I can go back to playing with PCStitch.

Posted - 04/26/2007 : 02:27:08 Hello, I am working on conversion between Pattern Maker and PCStitch and have contact with Mark Miller on this subject.
Dragonlair:
There is a way to automatically convert between crx (my rather unknown format) to PCStitch, so, conversion is possible. If your Pattern Maker files are dated 1997, I think I can convert them to PCStitch. I cannot completely convert newer files for the moment.
For EasyCross patterns: if you would send me a few sample pattern files including cross stitches AND back stitches plus an image of what these patterns look like, I could start working on converting from this format.

I am ready to help.

Posted - 04/17/2007 : 12:56:21 As far as I know, there is no way to automatically convert from any format to PCStitch. I wish there were. I have some PatternMaker and EasyCross patterns that I would like to convert.
