I am currently using Version 8 of PCStitch Pro. I can't find a list of changes from 8 to 9, so I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to the newer version. Can any of you help?

I only meant I managed to skip one upgrade. I like XP because I'm used to it although I do like some of the Windows 7 features. I don't think it's a huge change from Vista.

Here's what I was told regarding the differences:
"The main upgrade reason is that the version 9 is compatible with Windows 7 and the Pro 8 is not. There are also some new features, such as skins, layout, blending, etc... "

So, I probably will upgrade if only so I can work on designs on my notebook. The other bits sound more cosmetic.

If you are going to be using it on the notebook, you should upgrade.

As for Vista - I've used it for over 3 years now and have had very little problem. I have not upgraded to 7 because what I have is working fine.

Thanks, Diane! I'm running the program in XP (I avoided Vista successfully) on my desktop, but have Windows 7 on my newer notebook. I'll keep working on the differences.

batts,

One change is 9 has both the pro and standard built into the same engine allowing the developers to just keep one version updated. Version 9 standard has some of the features disabled.

I think 9 supports Windows 7 where as 8 only went as far as Vista. I don't know what other features were added.

I suggest you first look at this comparison page between 9 Standard and 9 Pro. Keep in mind what features you're used to having and it might help you determine what is new.

If you still can't figure it out, send an email to the contact us point with your question. When you find out - post. I'm sure lots of people would like to know the answer to that question!
