I have just discovered that i can put my name to the patterns that i design however, two of the patterns i have designed i am unable to put my name in the copyright box.????? Don't know why but can someone help?

Terry,
If your pattern is a modified version of another pattern (also copyrighted - by definition), that box may be disabled to protect the copyright of the original designer. Otherwise, I have no idea. If it was a direct manual creation by yourself, it should be open for typing. Just make sure you open it by clicking or tabbing to it.
