Posted - 04/26/2010 : 22:46:20 There are no metallic flosses - either DMC or Kreinik in the PCS Pro 9 floss list. Is there a way I add metallic floss lines without purchasing same?
Thanks. |

It's possible that you don't see DMC Metallic as a separate entry. DMC has merged a lot of the odd specialty flosses into the one line - "Light Effects". That may be where you find them now. I may have both because it's carried along from older forms of the software as updates added such things as "Light Effects". Newer installations may have lost the "grandfathering" effect.

Posted - 04/27/2010 : 21:48:40 This is very odd - I don't have DMC Metallic in Pro 9. However, I'll check the floss sites for metallic as you suggested.
Thanks. |

Posted - 04/27/2010 : 19:43:58 OK, I've got Pro up right now. Let's look at it
Most of the Kreinik are metallic, even if they don't say so. Check with the Kreinik site for verification.
For DMC, I do see a DMC Metallic as well as DMC Light Effects which includes the metallics.
I do have myriaCrossFloss-PCS which adds extra palettes but I remember seeing these even before I got the myriaCross product.

Posted - 04/27/2010 : 18:05:33 Perhaps I was unclear: there are *no* metallics in the floss drop-down list in Available Colors. Without listing all the types of palettes, there are 4 DMC types: Cotton, Light Effects, Linen and Satin - no metallic. There are 11 types of Kreinik, none of which are metallic. I find this unusual because PCS Standard 7 *does* have DMC metallic.
How do I add DMC metallics?
Thank you. |

Posted - 04/27/2010 : 07:27:56 There are separate palettes listed for DMC metallics and Kreinik. Kreinik has several hand both have been part of the listed since at least version 7. All you need to do is select another floss item from the drop down list in Available Colors and select a color from them. Your pattern can have flosses from as many companies as you want. Just assign unique symbols to each one. Your printout will distinguish which company is which with a code.
