Hello!
I'm new to creating my own cross-stitch patterns, and I just installed PCStitch Pro yesterday.
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice about these Pattern Pieces designs and which ones you might recommend? Are the first two alphabet titles repeats? I think one is 30 designs and one is 40.

Thank you both very much! I appreciate the info and the encouragement. I'll get more familiar with the program and use my own images for now until I gain more experience.

I am new to this too, but I will tell you how I started. I scanned an image to my hard drive and then used the import command to bring the scanned image to my PCStitch program.
You can also design anything in a "paint" program and then import.
I spent countless hours at first to catch on, but now it is so much fun - I spend every free moment doing designs and I am certainly not a free hand artist by any stretch.
Just be careful with anything copyrighted or licensed if you want to re-sell.
Once you get the hang of it, you really don't need to buy the patterns. |

Those are the titles of the 12 "Pattern Piece" collections. All have patterns of interest and it depends on what you want. Most have a large number of patterns (up to over 100).
When using these for your own patterns, you should keep one thing in mind. If you give or sell any pattern you create using these pieces to someone else, that person must also have a licensced copy of the appropriate Pattern Piece collection to be able to open your design.
Also, these designs are made for an earlier version of PCStitch. Each CD comes with PCStitch Lite and they all seem to insist upon it being installed even if you have a higher version available. PCStitch Pro must modify the pattern pieces for its own use. It's a one-time process but it does take time.
