Does anyone know how to translate counted cross to stamped cross?
I have figured out how to mirror image, print on transfer paper and iron on. But how do you use ink that washes out when finished when using an inkjet printer?

Oh my goodness - thank you so much for the info. I have done needlework my whole life and have seen "waste canvas" often - but never knew what is was used for. I absolutely love this PCStitch program - I have only had for a few days, but I have done so much already. My son and his wife are doing a nursery, and I have been making patterns to match their colors and theme. This is my first attempt at designing my own patterns.

Waste canvas is a special form of canvas that is made to be removed after stitching. It is coated in starch that when damp will slide out from under the stitches. It comes in various counts. You just tack it to the fabric where you want to stitch and then use it as if it were aida or evenweave. When finished, you just remove the running stitches that were used to attach it to the fabric and then trim the canvas somewhat close to your stitching and then dampen. Just pull out the strands of waste canvas one at a time and you'll never know they were there!
There are two advantages of using Waste Canvas. One, there are no ink marks to worry about and the stitches come out more even than with stamped cross stitch.

Thank you - but I do not know what waste canvas is or how to use it. I want to do pillow cases, sheets, quilts, etc. |

Why not just use Waste Canvas and do it as counted-cross stitch. Then you don't have to worry about ink - just sticky starchy fingers!
