I am making a pattern from a picture, and have tried to change the maximum colors to use from 50 to 100, using Anchor stranded cotton. But after printing the chart, it show just 50 colors, not the 100... Can anyone tell me how to make a chart with 100 colors or more?

Rick,

The problem is that we don't save the imported graphic with the pattern, so we don't have it available to do any recoloring. Are you using the Preview window on the import? You can try changing the number of colors and increasing the zoom of the preview window to see what the pattern will look like as many times as you want before clicking the OK button to complete the import.

Mark,

Thank you for your reply. I had no trouble with setting the max at 75, either. As the software says, you can use any number up to the number of colors in your palette (if you want to drive yourself crazy, that is).

As there is no way to increase the number of colors once set in the Import Wizard, I am asking if, in the next update, you could make that an option. Let's say I import a photo and set the max at 25, then don't like the way it looks. I then have to reimport and do it all over again.
Thanks,
Rick

I'm not sure what you are seeing with the import. I just tried it, and I was able to import a pattern with 75 colors using either the Anchor or DMC floss list.

For the second issue, there is no way to increase the number of colors in an import without re-importing the design.

I am having the same trouble. I scanned a photo using the import wizard. Once the maximum number of floss has been set and I tell it OK, it seems the only choice I have when I right-click the palette and select palette tools is to decrease the number of colors. Is there a way to increase colors without having to re-import the photo and go through the import wizard again?

If not, when you do your next update, I would like to see that in the palette tools, please.

Sylvia, I can't answer your question but I do have a request.

Please DO NOT use html! That is not allowed. If you look at the link for "forum code", you can see what command you can use.
