Why does the symbol window not open completely when you first open it? Some of the symbols are still hidden and can only be found by stretching the window. If you close it and open it again, all the symbols are visible.
I'm also curious as to why some of the symbol spaces appear to be blank.

Hello,

The panels in PCStitch pro are sizeable. This feature allows users to setup the design environment the way they want to see it. If there is not enough room in the current size to display all the symbols, you will notice a scroll bar along the bottom or side that allows you to scroll through the display. I hope that answers your first question.

As for blank spots in the list: That is the nature of TrueType fonts. Not all fonts have a character defined in all the available “spots” in the font. A font can hold up to 255 characters, but not all fonts do all the characters. When that happens, the “spots” will be displayed as blanks. The number of blanks you see will depend on the TrueType font you are currently using.

I hope this answers your questions.

Sincerely,

Troy Riegle

I think it stays small so you can have the pattern and the symbols at the same time. I just scroll sideways.

Even the previous version of PCStitch had some places "undefined" or blank. I used to use them for colors that only used backstitching. That is no longer necessary since you can repeat a symbol in Pro.
