Posted - 08/16/2015 : 16:29:38 Hello. I'm trying to open my PCStitch but for some reason I'm getting an error message that reads:
An error has occurred while trying to switch to the running instance of PCStitch.
Have not done anything different to the computer. I have tried rebooting but that didn't help. Suggestions?

Posted - 08/17/2015 : 13:05:58 You would have received the registration code in an email. I would first look back to old emails.
Since your program isn't working now, it can't hurt to try this!
I can't tell for sure since I cannot read the file but I would recommend you copy out into another area the following file (COPY, not cut!): C:\ProgramData\PCStitch 10\PCS10.LIC
It's a guess on my part that the .LIC file is the license. If you need it after the re-install, you should be able to just copy it back in.
Note that ProgramData is normally a hidden folder so you may have to "unhide" it to be able to see it. I unhide it and the local user version Appdata as one of the first things I do when I get a machine. It's a lot quicker if you do it before you add a lot of stuff!
You might just try a reinstall OVER your existing install and that would be like an "upgrade" so is almost guaranteed not to touch that file. If that doesn't work, then uninstall and then reinstall.
If all else fails and you do lose the registration (which isn't supposed to happen), just contact the company to get it back.

Posted - 08/17/2015 : 09:30:29 Thanks Diane for the suggestion but before I actually try it...I have no idea where my registration code would be should I need it. If I uninstall and then need the code what do I do if I can't find it? |

Posted - 08/16/2015 : 20:16:02 I suggest an uninstall and then a reinstall. You should not have to reissue the registration code.
