This is getting to be a lot of fun learning this program. My question now is this............how do i add the name of the pattern, etc. thanks again. cheryl

You do. As soon as you click for "New", you get the Pattern Properties box to at least set the basics of pattern size, pattern count and fabric color.

If you go to the tool bar at the top of the screen, you will see an icon of the red square with blue page overlapping - PATTERN PROPERTIES. Click on that, and on its front page you will have the option to add Pattern name, author etc.

You should also have that option when you open a new pattern.
