The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

Posted - 10/10/2011 : 22:24:59 Hi there, I'm using Windows 7 64 bit with no issues.
Sometimes tho with Windows 7 you need to run programs in DEP. It's part of the "protection" with Windows 7. Now, I didn't need to DEp this program, but it seems to be hit and miss what I do need to DEP. Have you tried placing your PCStitch into DEP ?
Don't be afraid to DEP programs that you're having a hard time getting to run with Windows 7, it's harmless to DEP, I promise. Also, if you ever play The Sims ( hehe) you'll need to DEP.
Here's whatcha do.
1. Go to "Computer" 2. Up top you will see a tab " System Properties" Click on it. 3. On the left hand side you will see "Advanced system settings" Click here. 4. Now, you should be on the "advanced" tab and here you should see "Performance" and there is a tab for "settings" click the "settings" tab 5. Now you get a pop up, click the "Data Execution Prevention" tab here you will see two options. You want the second option "Turn on Data execution prevention for all programs & services except those I chose" 6. Now you will add the PCStitch program. It's under "Program files (x86)"--PCStitch 9-once inside click on the PCstitch icon and then hit "open" tab. 7. hit the "Apply" tab 8. Now this is important- for this to work, you need to re-start your machine.

Posted - 10/02/2011 : 22:04:28 Have you tried to un-install the software? Download the Windows 7 Version and re-install it. I am using it under Windows 7 64 bits without any problems.

Posted - 10/02/2011 : 20:15:12 What version of pro are you trying to run? I suggest you use the main site's contact us for help on this - with full details on the error message.
If you are running Pro 8, it may not be supported under 7 at all, much less 64 bit Windows 7.
Diane There is no such thing as a stupid question
