Hello group,

I have several other questions about PCStitch.

1. When I do a "save as" and change the crosstitch pattern that I have been working on to a different name, it saves the new name and it's location to a directory that I give it. When I open the new file it shows the old pattern and old name that I did the "save as" from. I try to open the new pattern but when it opens it is the old pattern with the old name. Any ideals?

2. I have just started noticing that the preview of the pattern does not show in the preview window or a picture does not show up in the directory, just a block with the file name. A old file shows up as a picture, but new files or if I open that old file and resave it, it would not have a preview picture. What am doing wrong?

3. Is there a way to export the color numbers that the pattern has used so I can open it up in excel?

Thanks for all the help!

Eric

Thanks Diane for answering my questions. I am sure I will have more as I go along.

Thanks again,

Eric

Eric -

Using the "save as" to point to another folder is fine. However, PCStitch keeps an internal pointer of "where it is". To get it to use the "new" one, I suggest going to that file in Windows Explorer and double-clicking on it and it may change that pointer. An alternative is to click on "File" and select 'open' rather than the list at the bottom. That list at the bottom is what has been OPENED (not saved). Point to the file you want from there and it will then be included in the list at the bottom of that menu.

That may also solve the Preview situation. I'm not sure what would cause that to happen.

When you look at the Floss Usage window for a pattern, there is an option to save the file as a "csv". Csv files can be loaded into Excel. It does include the entire table (floss numbers, stitches, ...) EXCEPT the symbol. That symbol, being another font is not included in the little spreadsheet created.

There is no such thing as a stupid question
