Posted - 02/11/2011 : 01:31:27 Hi I am trying to create a virtual photo album of my designs by exporting them as pictures rather than patterns but am having problems with the size of the files. My poor old computer simply can't handle anything over a very small pattern - it just freezes then shuts down. I know it's not your program's fault!
I don't need the resulting photo to be anything bigger than 6" x 4" - nowhere near the real size of some of the patterns (up to 350 x 400 stitches) ; but I would like them to be all the same size, whatever the original pattern size. Is there a way to dictate the file size and resulting image size before exporting? I have tried reducing the zoom level but that doesn't work - I suppose because it is still working off the main pattern? Thanks again for any suggestions |

Posted - 02/11/2011 : 10:22:01 Thanks for that; it's a shame, though.
I have managed to 'print' to pdf and exported the virtual stitched image that way, but then can't add a virtual picture frame around the image as the pdf is un-editable; just stuck in the middle of its A4 sheet of paper. If I could have exported the pattern as an image, then I could have added the frame! One of those days !!!! |

Posted - 02/11/2011 : 07:39:42 Zooming won't work because it is just changing how you see the design that is working from a coded file - not an image.
Exporting to a photo - for sizes you are talking about would be incredibly large jpg files. If it is an older computer, I can easily see how it would strain your resources. It will also put a BIG strain on your hard disk!
I do not use the export to jpg feature so I don't know if you can specify the pixel size of the resulting image. That is what you want.
Diane There is no such thing as a stupid question
