I bought this program in December and everything seemed to be working fine for a few weeks, then one day I lost all of the individual floss palettes for the designs I had created, and the program will only print Average Dog even though I was instructed to delete all pre-existing charts from My Documents. The only colors that show at the bottom now are black and anything I temporarily add to the current design.

I was given the advice (thanks Jennifer) to re-install the cd but I'm afraid of losing all of my hard work. If my PCStitch patterns show up in the Patterns Online folder, is that saving my original work? I simply cannot stitch them all from the computer screen and recreate the charts later!

Thanks, Shellybells

The work you need to save are any .pat files you have downloaded or created yourself. As long as they are NOT in the "My Documents" default area, they are safe. An uninstall/reinstall does not touch any other patter folders. You don't have to use that area. You can place your patterns in any folder you desire in any location on the disk - or even on a flashdrive. PCStitch is smart enough to remember where you last loaded patterns and will start there the next time, even if it isn't My Documents.

One idea - it's a good idea to back up your patterns (downloaded or created) onto a CD/DVD or flashdrive from time to time. That way if you have something even worse than this happen (such as a hard disk crash), your patterns will not be lost!
