Posted - 12/03/2010 : 06:45:13 One of the tips on opening the programme states that it is possible to use different floss palettes for different areas of a project, but I cannot see how to do this. Am I missing something? Thanks! |

Posted - 12/03/2010 : 08:11:08 When you define the colors for the individual pattern (not an import from an image), you can specify any color from any floss company on the list. It is very very common to mix DMC Stranded Cotton with any of the Kreinik blends or metallic flosses. Just choose the colors from one company, then select a new company from the drop-down menu and select more colors. I do not think there is a limit to how many floss companies or groups (such as several within the DMC family) you can have in a given pattern.
If you are in the middle of a pattern (or an import) and you wish to exchange one color existing in a pattern with a color from a different company, just find the color you want to use and put it in the palette of colors to use. Here's the part I can never remember. You either drag the new color OVER the old color and select Replace or drag the old over the new. I can never remember the direction but with Undo available, it's not critical. If you have an area "boxed" or selected, you will have the option to replace in the selected are or the entire pattern.
It's really quite powerful and flexible.
